I’ve always been a bit of a hermit . . .
For most of my life, the activities I have loved to do the most – listening and playing music, watching movies, reading books and comics, and, of course, writing – have all been indoor activities.
I do enjoy participating in sports, and I was an ice hockey goaltender for most of my life. That said, I have always been more of a sedentary person than an active one.
In my thirties, I was (mostly) able to get away with this . . .
But now that I am into my forties, I am increasingly realizing that ignoring my physical fitness and nutrition is having a serious impact on my life.
And by impact I don’t just mean putting on pounds.
I also mean impact on my work as a coach and a writer.
Our creativity is directly tied to our energy levels and our energy levels are directly tied to our health and nutrition.
Despite the stereotype of the prolific cigarette smoking alcoholic writer, in reality, one of the best things you can do to improve your creativity is improve your health.
On Monday, I shared with you the latest episode of The Writing Coach podcast featuring health and nutrition coach, Tyler Hammett.
Throughout the interview, Tyler and I touched on concepts relating to health and fitness for writers, but our conversation only touched on the surface of these topics.
If you would like a deeper dive into the steps a writer can take to get healthy and produce better work, I invite you to join me for a free seminar this Saturday, September 25, 2021, at noon Eastern time.
On this seminar, Tyler is going to outline exactly what writers like you and I can do to get and stay healthy. We only have one life on this earth, and only one body to work with, so we need to make the most of it.
To attend the seminar, simply me at kevin@kevintjohns.com and I’ll send you the Zoom invite.
See you there this Saturday!
